"Portraits of Humanity" - A photo exhibit by
Ananda Chowdhury
‘Portraits of Humanity’ describes the spirit of a range of moods in stages of human existence.
Over the recent years Ananda has evolved as a street photographer. For him it is about seeing and finding an immense satisfaction in differentiating between looking and seeing.
He loves to roam urban & rural areas, where there are visual surprises around in every corner to get into a kind of image, which are the moments of breath.
While he appreciates many kinds of ../images and forms, it is the people and their lives that continue to intrigue and fascinate him. He wants to know the people he photographs. In some way he tries through his photos to communicate something about the subjects’ lives, their hopes and dreams. His collection of portraits has been the core of his photo work for the past ten years, and the search is still on.
Ananda wants to describe the humanity and reveal the truth about existence.
He has built from scratch an impressive collection of nearly 3,000 photos with a small budget. He does not feel the must to have a lot of money to do something right; he just has the right kind of goal and attitude. He captures the right position at the right time.
This show doesn't speak about growing old, mortality, or physical decline. Instead the photographer turned the wheel of the life cycle into visual poetry; there's no end and no beginning.
