"Drishti" - the antiquity of the soul - An Exhibition of Drawing & Paintings of Saswati Chaudhuri.

Saswati, a passionate painter since the age of three, has been trying to be in close proximity with nature, in order to relate the beautiful and eclectic facets of life. A fortunate disciple of Ganesh Haloi, Isha Mahammad, Bikash Bhattacharya, Ashesh Mitra, she is one of the fine photorealist painters in India. She tries to add life to the forms and the lines that comes spontaneously from her inner psyche. By making something beautiful and hyper real in appearance, the artist tries to portray the feelings of human being though her brush strokes and fine lines.
Each of her painting has its own character, subject, set of colors and feeling of its surrounding that stands apart from the rest. An amalgamation of natural and abstract forms ornamented with the flow of lines and mystical hues in all the paintings reflect one body with its innate beauty. As perceived, the realistic paintings on canvas and paper reveal the inner expressions of the soul through the eyes. Hence, the eyes symbolize the antiquity of the soul in her art pieces. The communion of mind and heart with the eye is evident in her works. She is an Expressionist by Nature. Thus, the given name Drishti - the antiquity of the soul justifies the theme of this show.
