Ananda Chowdhury - Photographer
An engineer, with a creative sense the photographer prefers to be referred as an “Aesthetengineer” who cannot separate ‘Thinking’ from ‘Doing’ and is always against the idea of an engineer being apprehensive only with dimensions, production procedures, and construction, and in general are expected not to have an aesthetic approach. Creativity comes from soul, which cannot be practiced; he wanted to become a techno-artist – an aesthete with an engineering background.”
Impressive collections of more than 10,000 photos with a small budget built from scratches are worth seeing. There are not too many people around who have supported photography and photographers like Ananda. He has done a great job of educating the masses about photography.
While he appreciates many kinds of images and forms, it is the people and their lives that continue to intrigue and fascinate him. He wants to know the people he captures in his coliseums of photography. In some way he tries through his photos to communicate something about the subjects’ lives, their hopes and dreams. |
